The German development cooperation is part of the stakeholder group that supports the Methodology for Assessing Procurement Systems (MAPS) initiative. MAPS is a recognised assessment and reform tool based on international standards that helps identify strengths and weaknesses of the public procurement system at the central and local, system and entity level. It provides an analytical basis for specific, targeted reforms based on a prioritised action plan. Currently, several supplementary modules, i.e., on sustainable public procurement, are being developed.
